The Forgotten War In Yemen: The US Has Criminally Designated The Houthi Resistance Forces Trying To Free Their Nation As Terrorists!

I figure it was about time I got away from the COVID-19 bullshit for a bit and took a good look at what has been happening elsewhere in our sick world for an article or two, or three..... I have been so caught up in the scam-demic for the last year and have posted nearly 900 articles attacking that fraud head on.. And so much else of the reporting that I have done for years has 'suffered' as a result.... I want to let readers know that I may change things up for a while and reduce the amount of  'scam-demic' articles for the next while......

I have been reporting for years about the REAL situation in the southern Arabian peninsular nation of Yemen, that has in a state of 'civil war' for decades and then suddenly nearly a decade ago now (hard to believe that it has now been that long..) that the criminal neighbouring Saudi regime attempted to put one of their puppets in control of the government in that key southern nation..... But attempts to subdue the Yemeni people into accepting Saudi servitude failed miserably and the Saudis therefore decided to take the military option by actual land invasion of the nation of Yemen itself some 8 years ago...  The result has been a struggle between the Saudi invaders and the Houthi resistance forces entrenched in and around the major population areas of western Yemen and especially the capital city of San'a..

And now a decade later and Yemen basically turned into the Saudi version of the "Vietnam War" where the Saudis are now in basically a 'no win' situation against the populist Houthi resistance forces, the situation may be drastically changing as you will see in this report..

I do want to present the following important report that comes from the Bloomberg Online news service at www.bloomberg.com, where the criminal US government has now 'labeled' the Houthi freedom fighter resistance forces in Yemen as a 'terrorist organization' via what they claim has been the 'unwarranted' Houthi recent attacks on oil tankers..... Here in fact is that entire article for everyone to see for themselves, and I do have my own thoughts and comments to follow:

U.S. Labels Houthis Terrorists After Attacks on Oil Tankers

January 10, 2021, 11:57 PM CST Updated on January 11, 2021, 10:07 AM CST

-Iran-backed Houthis have been blamed for Saudi port attacks

-Trump administration using final days to heap pressure on Iran

The U.S. has classified Yemen’s Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization following a series of attacks on oil tankers in the Red Sea and as Washington seeks to increase pressure on Iran in the final days of Donald Trump’s presidency.

The move will give the U.S. “additional tools” with which to counter security threats in the Persian Gulf, according to Secretary of State Michael Pompeo. The Houthis are backed by Iran in Yemen’s civil war and have been blamed for several missile strikes and other attacks on Saudi Arabia.

“The designations are intended to hold Ansarallah accountable for its terrorist acts, including cross-border attacks threatening civilian populations, infrastructure, and commercial shipping,” Pompeo said Sunday in a statement, referring to the group by another name. “Rather than distance itself from the Iranian regime, it has embraced the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism even more.”

The Houthis have been fighting Yemen’s United Nations-recognized government since 2014. A Saudi Arabian-led coalition intervened the following year on the side of the government. The UN has called the conflict -- in which tens of thousands of people have died -- the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

The U.S. decision will increase pressure on the Houthis and help end “this miserable, long conflict,” the UN-backed government said through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Houthis criticized the move via a statement on Monday and said they “have the right to respond to any designation coming from the Trump administration or any other administration.”

Democratic U.S. Representative Gregory Meeks, the new chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said that the designation “is short-sighted and endangers the lives of the Yemeni people.”

The Trump administration “has yet to learn that they can’t sanction their way out of a civil war,” he said.

Missile Strike

A fuel tanker was hit by an explosion near the Saudi port of Jeddah last month. While the kingdom didn’t blame the Houthis, it described the incident as a “terrorist attack.” Three weeks before that another vessel was damaged, possibly by a mine, at the Saudi terminal of Shuqaiq and the Houthis claimed a missile strike on a fuel depot in Jeddah owned by Saudi Aramco, the state energy company.

Yemen President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi blamed the Houthis for an attack on Aden airport on Dec. 30, which the U.S. says killed 27 people.

The Houthis have regularly targeted Saudi energy installations. They said they were responsible for an attack on Saudi Arabia’s main oil pipeline in May 2019 and the world’s biggest crude-processing plant at Abqaiq a few months later.

The latter incident, in which armed drones temporarily knocked out about half of Saudi Arabia’s oil-production capacity, caused crude prices to soar. The UN said the drones were probably of Iranian origin.

Korean Tanker

The Trump administration has tightened sanctions on Iran in recent months as it tries to weaken the Islamic Republic economically and force it to stop meddling in Middle Eastern countries such as Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen. The new penalties will make it harder for President-elect Joe Biden to revive a nuclear deal with Iran that Trump abandoned in 2018.

The tensions have also affected U.S. allies. Iran seized a South Korea-flagged oil tanker last week. Tehran says $7 billion from oil sales are trapped in South Korea due to Washington’s sanctions and it needs them to pay for goods including coronavirus vaccines.

South Korea’s deputy foreign minister is in Tehran this week to try to get the ship released and to discuss the funds.

The U.S. will designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization on Jan. 19, Pompeo said. Three of its leaders -- Abdul Malik al-Houthi, Abd al-Khaliq Badr al-Din al-Houthi and Abdullah Yahya al Hakim -- will be classified as global terrorists.

Pompeo said U.S. humanitarian efforts to help victims of Yemen’s war could be hindered, but that Washington will put in place measures to counteract this.

NTS Notes: This to me is a travesty for the fact that the Houthis are NOT 'terrorists' by a long shot but have been absolutely fighting for the right of the Yemen people to decide their own future and not one dictated by the criminals in the US, the European Union, the invading Saudis, and now even the criminal Israelis.....

And of course this article mentions that lie that the puppet regime that the criminal Saudis tried to force on the Yemen people earlier last decade was somehow approved by the UN.... The facts are that the Yemeni people themselves overwhelmingly did NOT approve of that regime and have firmly been in full support of the Houthi resistance fighters... Basically if the UN actually kept to its charter, it would allow the nation of Yemen itself to decide its own future and not via intervention by outside criminal nations..

And about these 'oil tanker' attacks... I have seen over the years so many cases of 'oil tankers' being attacked in the region and in all of those other cases they were indeed false flag operations that were intended to vilify Iran.... Much can be said in the same context here as the major supporter of the Houthi resistance against the Saudi invaders has been Iran itself...

Yes, this is very significant, for now once the Houthis are falsely labeled as 'terrorists' it could open the door to direct US intervention under the guise of fighting 'terrorists'..... And this may be how the US will indeed 'bail out' the Saudis who have been on the losing end of the war against Yemen over the last few years...

Some may ask why I have been following this war as closely as I have over the years, and the answer is this is the classic David versus Goliath war, where the good guys aka the Houthi resistance fighters have been fighting a war against the Saudis who are armed with superior weaponry and have been slaughtering Yemen civilians in acts of cold blooded murder and genocide... And thanks to the support of the Yemen people and Houthi ingenuity, the Houthis have been winning the battle to free their nation... But now with the false labeling of these freedom fighters as "terrorists" the war enters a new dimension and again the possibility of outside intervention to help the criminal Saudis finally win...

More to come
