A Salute To A Real Hero: Tehran Street To Be Named After Rachel Corrie

Rachel Corrie was murdered by the Israeli IDF forces in March, 2003.   She and other activists were trying to stop the Israeli Army from demolishing a house in the Gaza Strip by standing in clear view in front of Israeli armoured bulldozers in the hope of having the drivers stop their demolition.  Rachel herself was in clear view of one Israeli bulldozer driver who blatantly refused to stop, ran over her, and then had the nerve to drop the bulldozer's blade and back up over her body again.   Rachel was crushed to death instantly by this murderous act!   To this day, the US Government has refused to go after the criminal Israelis for this murder, and her own family has been fighting a losing effort in the criminal Israeli courts seeking justice for Rachel!

It has now been almost 8 years since Rachel's murder, and while the rest of the world has not turned a blind eye to the brave actions of Rachel Corrie,  according to this article from the Tehran Times, at, the Iranian government will now name a street in Tehran in her honour!   This is fabulous news, and I have this article right here for my own readers to view:

A Tehran street to be named after Rachel Corrie

Tehran Times Social Desk

TEHRAN - Tehran City Councilor Masoumeh Abad announced on Wednesday that one of Tehran’s streets will be named after Rachel Corrie.

Talking to the Fars news agency, Abad said ten universities of Tehran city have requested the council to name one of the capital’s streets Rachel Corrie.

She added that Tehran City Council examined the request and agreed to it and one street will be named after Rachel Corrie in the near future.

Rachel Aliene Corrie (April 10, 1979 – March 16, 2003) was an American member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM).

She was crushed to death in the Gaza Strip by an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) bulldozer when she was kneeling in front of a local Palestinian's home, thus acting as a human shield, attempting to prevent IDF forces from demolishing the home.

The IDF stated that the death was due to the restricted angle of view of the IDF Caterpillar D9 bulldozer driver, while ISM eyewitnesses said ""there was nothing to obscure the driver’s view

NTS Notes:  I applaud the actions of the Iranian people for this fabulous tribute to a true American hero.  I am also aware that there is a street in Gaza named after Rachel as well...

This type of action can never take place in America due to the total control of the government and the media by these criminals.  Maybe someday after America is freed from this tyranny, Rachel's name will also appear in street names all over that nation as well!

Rachel Corrie is a true American hero, and should be a symbol for all of us in this war against tyranny!

More to come
