No Hope For Middle East Peace: Criminal Zionist Netanyahu Demands Eternal (!) Israeli Presence In West Bank

The world's Zionist controlled media has been focused exclusively on the disaster in Haiti for the last week, and it appears that that is done on purpose. While their media has been running Haiti 24/7, other just as important issues have occurred elsewhere. One major issue was the recent attempt by the Zionists in Israel to drown Palestinians in Gaza. I put up an article about that criminal action recently; link: http://northerntruthseeker.blogspot.com/2010/01/zionist-strangulation-of-gaza-cant-bomb.html

Another important issue is the recent declaration put forward by the ultra-Zionist war criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu, that Israel demands a permanent presence in the occupied West Bank! Here is the article from www.uruknet.info, that explains in full detail this latest insane demand by this murderous criminal. My comments to follow:

Netanyahu demands eternal Israeli presence in West Bank

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that Israel must have a presence in the West Bank even after a peace agreement is achieved, dealing a fresh blow to the visiting US Middle East envoy’s effort to restart peace talks.

Netanyahu said the experience of rocket attacks from the Lebanese and Gaza borders means Israel must be able to prevent such weapons from being brought into a Palestinian entity in the occupied West Bank.

"We cannot afford to have that across from the center of our country," he told foreign reporters Wednesday in occupied Jerusalem.

"We are surrounded by an ever-growing arsenal of rockets placed in the Iranian-supported enclaves to the north and to the south," he said, referring to Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

Palestinians want to create an independent state in the occupied West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem with no Israeli presence, military or civilian.

Netanyahu outlined the defensive systems Israel is developing to knock down incoming rockets, but he admitted that they are "prohibitively expensive." He said that Hizbullah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza get their rockets from neighboring countries, and that must be stopped.

Netanyahu made his comments after US Middle East envoy George Mitchell said Wednesday that Syria and Lebanon were key to achieving peace in the Middle East.

Mitchell was in Beirut on Tuesday and Wednesday and traveled to neighboring Damascus at the start of a regional tour aimed at restarting Middle East peace talks.

The visit is part of a US effort to end Israel’s conflicts with the Palestinians, Syria and Lebanon and, more broadly, normalize Israel’s ties with the rest of the Arab world.

"Syria, certainly has an important role to play in all these efforts, as do the US and international community," Mitchell added in a brief statement to reporters after a meeting with President Bashar Assad in Damascus.

Mitchell’s visit to Syria is the third since he was appointed as US Mideast peace envoy. Washington withdrew its ambassador to Damascus in 2005 following the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

But relations have eased under President Barack Obama.

Earlier in Beirut, Mitchell said Lebanon is key to regional peace. In a statement, he said Lebanon would play a key role in efforts to build lasting and comprehensive peace and stability in the Middle East.

Mitchell is also traveling to Israel and the Palestinian territories in his latest diplomatic mission to the region.

The former senator is trying to persuade both sides to resume talks aimed at ending their decades-old conflict. Previous talks broke off in December 2008.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has proposed that the Obama administration negotiate the final borders of a Palestinian state with Israel, a Palestinian official said Wednesday.

Such a proxy arrangement could provide a way around the current deadlock over reviving Israeli-Palestinian talks, which broke off more than a year ago. Abbas says he won’t return to the table without a complete Israeli settlement freeze, something Israeli Netanyahu has refused to do.

As an alternative, US officials could replace Palestinian negotiators in border talks with Israel, said an Abbas aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the content of internal meetings. The US negotiators would be given clear parameters, the aide said.

The state would have to be established in the territories Israel captured in the 1967 war – the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem – but the Palestinians would agree to swap up to 3 percent of the territory to accommodate some Israeli settlements, the aide said. Abbas made the proposal in recent meetings with Egyptian officials who passed the idea along to Washington, the aide said. It was not clear how the Americans reacted.

Alternately, Abbas could resume negotiations with Netanyahu, provided the Israeli leader agrees to a six-month settlement freeze in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Netanyahu would not have to announce the freeze, the aide said, presumably to avoid a rebellion in his hardline coalition. The Palestinians say settlements on lands they claim threatens the prospects for an independent state.

An Israeli official dismissed the idea of an undeclared freeze.

"It is not going to happen. This is against everything the prime minister stands for and believes in," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because it was not a formal offer. – AP, Reuters

NTS Notes: This demand is insane, period. If the world falls for this trick by these blood thirsty murderers, then there is no hope for the Palestinian people to have a state of their own forever. People must understand once and for all that the goals of the Zionists has always been to have ALL of Palestine for themselves. There is no option for the Palestinian people if this idea is ever agreed to, other than to fight for their very right to exist.

Lets get the truth out about this criminal's demands. Zionist Israel does not give a damn about its neighbors, and its only goal is to attain territory by force and murder of innocent people.

More to come
