We have been told again and again in our "History" books that the atom bomb drop on Hiroshima was a necessity to speedily end the war with Japan, and to save the death of thousands of American lives from the planned invasion of Japan itself.
But again, our books do not tell us the true history of that sad event. Most people are unaware that by July, 1945, Japan was already defeated and trying desperately to negotiate their surrender with the United States. It seems that the US government purposely delayed the surrender just so that they could use a civilian population to test their newest super weapon on.
Facts are facts, readers... Japan was being bombed daily since February 1945 by massive squadrons of US General Lemay's B29 bombers based out of Tinian Island, in the Marianas Islands. Their major cities, including Tokyo, and Osaka, had already been fire bombed with huge losses in human life, and their remaining industries were both bombed and unable to even support continuation of the war due to lack of raw materials thanks to the US total blockade of the Japanese main islands. The people were already beginning to starve to death from lack of food, and many were willing to accept any terms that the US put forward for the surrender, even unconditional surrender.
Why was the US government under Harry S Truman wanting to continue the war? Many of our "History" books continue to say that the Japanese were unwilling to surrender and that they were ready to die for their country which is totally untrue. The truth is that their government under Prince Konoye was suing for peace and was willing to do anything to end the war! The Japanese government knew that they either surrendered or risked famine of the populace.

They wanted their super weapon tested, and the people of Hiroshima were the guinea pigs. It is disgusting to think that some 150,000+ people were murdered by these monsters just for their glory!
